What happens if an organization wants to recruit BHS students for a political cause?

BCSC policy requires any person or organization wishing to distribute material on school property to first submit a copy to the Superintendent for approval. The Superintendent then may either approve the distribution of the material or deny it by indicating how it violates Board Policy 5722, Policy 8800, Policy 9700, or a restriction regarding time, place, and manner. (All policies can be found at this website http://www.neola.com/brownsburg-in/)

It is not the purpose of the BCSC to advocate for political views, but it is important for our children to be aware of the world in which they live and to have an opportunity to hear and discuss differing points of view. The Superintendent trusts BCSC teachers and administrators to make the right decisions for their classrooms and schools based on the age and maturity of their children and the relevance of the topic to the particular subject area.
