In its three years, PupPutt
at Reagan Elementary has made significant changes in the lives of many people
through its fundraising donations to SCI (Spinal Cord Injury) Hope. Total
dollars raised to help the victims and families of spinal cord injuries exceeds
$44,000. But what began as a classroom project intended for only one year, has
outgrown its original scope. The time, energy and expense it now requires to
promote and support the event, as well as to maintain and store the equipment
has become overwhelming and thus, the teachers who have been the architects of the project have decided it's time to discontinue it.
It has been a wonderful project with many benefits beyond even the dollars raised and, thus has served its purpose as an educational tool and community service project.
