The first administration of IREAD, the state reading
assessment for third grade students was administered last month, and we recently received our results. Our students did exceeding well with 91.33%
of our students passing, leaving only 50 students in the third grade who did not
pass. Of those 50 students, 28 are
special education students and/or English as a New Language and exempt from any
penalty. Of the
22 remaining students, 19 are within just a few points of passing and should
meet expectations when the IREAD assessment is administered again at the
conclusion of summer school.
