Two assistant principal positions are planned for BHS and both are replacements. One position will replace John Spoonmore, an assistant principal who retired, and the other will replace the Director of Guidance, Don Shepherd, who also retired this year. The second asst. principal position will oversee the Guidance Dept. among other duties.
BCSC is committed to continuing to streamline this corporation across the board. It is important to keep in mind that the purpose and function of administrative staff is to allow teachers to do their very important job - which is to teach. Reducing administrators does not equal a reduction in the responsibilities that they fulfill. Careful and strategic reductions must and will be made where impact can be minimized and not add additional responsibility to the already very full plates of teachers.
