Does decreasing enrollment help the budget?
A large part of the money provided to schools by the State of Indiana is dependent upon enrollment. So as the enrollment would decrease, the amount of money available to the school would decrease. Likewise, as the enrollment would increase the amount of money would increase. However, right now there is a factor in the state funding formula passed by the General Assembly which says that even if student enrollment decreases, funding for those students won't be completely removed for three years. This provision helps schools with declining enrollments and hurts schools like Brownsburg with increasing enrollments.
