The BCSC mission statement emphasizes our commitment
to preparing students for the world in which they live, a world that they will
share with people just like them as well as those who neither look, act nor
believe as they do.
October is designated for almost 40 month-long observances for health, culture and awareness including domestic violence, breast cancer, cyber security, German/Italian/Polish American heritage, Down Syndrome, spina bifida, national arts & humanities and many others. It would be impossible to give equal time to every cause, belief and health issue.
BCSC believes that good teachers teach students HOW to
think, not WHAT to think. Our teachers have age-appropriate, educationally sound
discussions with their students regarding all manner of issues that will
enhance and encourage their global understanding.
