I heard teachers have been told that there will be “year round” school for the 2012-2013 school year. Is this true and when will it be communicated to students and parents?

No decision has been made about next year's calendar, nor will it be made without feedback from staff and the community. Year round school is not an option that is being considered, however, a "balanced" school calendar is under consideration. The balanced calendar has been explained in previous "Grapevine" posts and still requires students to attend school 180 days with eight weeks for summer break and two weeks between quarters.
