Due to the need to reduce the budget by almost $4 million, BCSC is looking at every possible way to reduce expenditures. One strategy has been to streamline custodial services.
Because staffing has been allowed to reduce through attrition, maintaining the necessary custodial services has required not only the implementation of new processes, but also the most effective deployment of custodial staff.
To balance staffing and capabilities throughout all schools, staff have been reorganized into crews with a structured cleaning schedule and more efficient procedures.
