Why is Brown Elementary losing teachers and won't that create larger class sizes?

In times of economic difficulty, such as BCSC is currently experiencing, we must carefully consider the necessity of replacing teachers who retire or resign, and be flexible with the teachers that we have, while still offering outstanding educational opportunities to our students.

We are not replacing many of the elementary teachers who are leaving, but we are electing to share some of those teachers with other schools. Our "campus" concept it makes it easy to accomplish that.

Of course, class size is a concern, so we look at the average class size per grade level, trying to keep within the limits of:
24 or lower for K and 1
26 or lower for 2 and 3
30 or less for 4 and 5

In the case of Brown, we were able to share two teachers with other elementary schools. We still remain within our desired class size range.
